CONTINUING Ministry
CONTINUING MINISTRY
It Doesn’t End at Closing
The weekend is the beginning of the journey for the women in white who have attended a Kairos weekend. After the weekend there are three continuing ministries to keep the inmates engaged in Kairos. They are prayer and share fellowship groups, monthly reunions and 1 or 2 day retreats. Each of these serve a unique purpose for the team and women in white.
INSTRUCTIONAL DAY
A critical component of this Continuing Ministry is the Instructional Day, a required, structured gathering the weekend after the four-day weekend for Kairos community members. This day establishes prayer and share and the monthly reunions.
Continuing Ministry
Reunions
In Kairos prison ministry reunions are gatherings held after the initial weekend program, designed to strengthen connections among participants. These events allow former inmates and volunteers to share experiences, challenges, and successes in a supportive environment. They foster community, encourage ongoing spiritual growth, and reinforce the principles of Kairos, promoting accountability and lasting relationships formed during the weekend.
PRAYER AND SHARE
Prayer and Share is the weekly small group gathering that serves as the backbone of the Kairos community inside Plane State Jail. It is a structured time designed to foster deep fellowship, mutual encouragement, and spiritual growth.
1 OR 2 DAY RETREATS
Alongside weekly Prayer and Share groups and monthly Reunions, the 1 and 2-Day Retreats serve as vital spiritual tune-ups that deepen community, offer ongoing encouragement, and keep residents anchored in their faith walk.
